Santa Catarina hotels & travel guide
Island beaches, German valleys and the coldest serra in Brazil — honest-priced stays across the state, and one tonne of CO₂ removed with every booking.
Da praia à serra, sem pagar a mais
DestinoSC is a curated guide to honest-priced stays in and around Santa Catarina — from the island beaches of Florianópolis to the German-founded towns of the Vale Europeu, the surf villages of the north coast (Bombinhas, Itapema, Balneário Camboriú), the fishing ports of the south (Laguna, Garopaba, Praia do Rosa), and the cold serra towns of Urubici, São Joaquim and Bom Jardim da Serra. We cover the places worth going to, not every dot on the map, so the list is deliberately not exhaustive.
We are not the booking engine. Tapping See price hands you to app.impt.io, which aggregates over 8 million hotels at the same price or better than booking direct. Every booking made through the site funds one verified tonne of carbon removal at no extra cost — that is the impacto positivo half of the concept. Prices justos, planeta melhor.
Florianópolis splits into worlds. Lagoa da Conceição suits younger travellers who want bars and Joaquina beach nearby, with hostels from R$90 and pousadas R$220-350. Jurerê Internacional is where families and the wealthy São Paulo crowd land — expect R$500+ in high season. The centro histórico around Praça XV is the cheapest island base at R$150-220, and puts you on the direct bus to Praia Mole. On the mainland, Balneário Camboriú is Miami in miniature: high-rises, R$250-450, best for a two-night stopover.

Where to stay in Bombas
Bombas and Bombinhas share a peninsula but feel like different towns, and picking Bombas over its noisier neighbour saves R$300 a night in high season.
Before you book
The questions we get most, answered with this month’s numbers.
Off-peak (May to August, excluding July school holidays) you can find pousadas from R$120 to R$180 a night for a double with breakfast. The cheapest bases are Laguna, where simple pousadas near Praia do Mar Grosso start around R$140, and São Joaquim in the serra, where family-run inns run R$150 midweek.
For the coast, March to May and September to November hit the sweet spot: 22-26°C, warm sea, and rates 40 to 60 percent below January. Peak is 20 December to 20 February, when Florianópolis beach hotels triple to R$600-900. For the serra and snow chances, visit June to August — expect R$200-300 nights in São Joaquim and Urubici.
For a first visit split three nights: Florianópolis (Lagoa da Conceição for young travellers, R$220-350; Jurerê for families, R$400+), then Bombinhas or Balneário Camboriú for beach days (R$180-300 shoulder season), and finally the serra — Urubici or São Joaquim — for canyons and cold nights (R$180-280 in a pousada with wood stove).
A car is essential outside Florianópolis. The BR-101 runs the whole coast; Floripa to Balneário Camboriú takes 90 minutes, Floripa to Bombinhas 75 minutes. Buses via Catarinense and Reunidas connect main cities (Floripa-Blumenau R$55, 2h30). The serra (Urubici, São Joaquim) has almost no public transport — rent from Localiza at Hercílio Luz airport, around R$130 a day.
Blumenau's Oktoberfest runs three weeks in October and is the biggest German festival in the Americas. Hotel prices in Blumenau, Pomerode and Timbó triple to R$500-800 and sell out four months ahead. If you are not going for the festival, avoid the entire Vale Europeu that month — stay in Balneário Camboriú (45 minutes away) at normal rates around R$220.
When you tap See price we hand you to app.impt.io, which aggregates over 8 million hotels at the same price or better than booking direct. For every booking made through the site, IMPT funds one verified tonne of carbon removal at no extra cost to you. Same room, same price, one tonne gone.
